I’m so happy to introduce my guest for this month, Becca Yahrling

Last month she won the Small USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail Box with some Christmas/Winter Impress Rubber Stamps/Josephine Kimberling designs. It makes my crafty heart happy that she used two stamps from the prize pack! Make sure you hop over to her Flickr or IG and leave her some Woodblock Wednesday love!

Here’s how I was inspired today:

My project features the following woodblock stamps:

  • Diamond Background | JRL Design
  • Source of Inspiration | Inkadinkado
  • Hello Flags | Hero Arts
  • Greetings from Washington | Impress Stamps

I inked up the Diamond Background with Catherine Pooler’s Cashmere ink and stamped it onto a Spellbinders ColorWheel Alabaster panel.

That silhouette image was a major challenge. The interior image would not stamp cleanly. I was determined to use it for today’s card so I must have stamped it out six times! I ended up making a mask and filling it in as best I could. The floral that surrounds the image was hit and miss so I had to fill those in with black sharpie and then I used a pink and gold paint pen and made polka dots. I ended up added more polkas with the black sharpie too. I’ve always thought that the ‘inspire’ was in weird place so I covered it up with the sentiment.

I finished the card off with the Hero Arts Hello Flags and some fussy cutting. Days like this, I feel like I’m going back in time with the silhouette image and the iconic Hello Flags.

I can’t wait to see how you’re inspired! Link up your:

  1. Your card is just stunning, Amy! I love everything about it. The colors, the design, the wonderful elements you used. And thank you so much for the honor of guest designing for you!!

  2. First off I’m glad I found this post and hope to participate again next month.
Becca – Your card was adorable. I liked the colors you used and it had such a fun wintery feel. Unfortunately I couldn’t leave a comment on Flickr (since you have to pay to join) and I couldn’t find your card on your IG account so I hope you see this post.

Amy – Your card was wonderful. Love how you used that BG stamp. I’ve had stamps like the silhouette you used not ink up properly as well but I think you did a fine job of making it work. I also like the pops of pink/gold that you dotted on.

  3. Both creations are so inspirational! Thank you for continuing this challenge Amy (I always think about it and just made it in this time) 😉
