Simon Says Stamp In My Heart Blog Hop – Day 1

Hey there crafty friends, welcome to my blog. My name is Amy and I’m so excited to be joining in the fun today. We’re celebrating the new Simon Says Stamp – In My Heart Release with a blog hop!

Did you know: There’s an In My Heart Gallery! Check out all the inspiration and link up your In My Heart projects.

You should have arrived here from Carol Hintermeier’s blog. If you haven’t, you’ll want to start at the Simon Says Stamp blog so you don’t miss out on any of the inspiration.

  • Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop from each blog comment section. Simon Says Stamp will choose the winners and post on the Simon Says Stamp blog on Wednesday the 25th of March where you can find out if you’ve won a prize!

Today I’m featuring the fabulously hilarious – Getting Old | stamp set. I’ve mixed it up with a couple of other previously released SSS products.

Oh boy, this set is going to get a work out this year. I’m celebrating a milestone birthday and I know some others that will be too. I’ve also included these previously released Simon Says Stamp products:

  • Geo Flower Building | stamp set
  • Fancy Cake Set | dies

I’ve also used Spellbinders ColorWheel cardstocks:

  • Mint
  • Alabaster
  • Gold

I used vellum for the candles and colored them on the backside with copics. The ‘flames’ are Spellbinders matte gold cardstock. The sentiments have been heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold.

In case you missed my card from yesterday:

I’m the end of the hop! If you happened upon my blog and haven’t had the chance to check out all the other hop stops, I have the listing at the bottom of this post.

Please note that due to issues with spam, all comments are moderated.

If you’re new to my blog, welcome welcome! I’m also over on instagram: @craftee1

  1. Such fun cards !!! I think (or hope) we all know those people that love a card that brings about a smile or even better yet a laugh. I always looked for cards with funny sentiments for my dad in an attempt to get him to break a smile. He is gone now, losing him was what really led me to card making, I needed something to help fill those days when I was trying to come to grips with the empty space he once filled. This is such a fun stamp set, You and your cards totally did it justice, thanks for sharing your cards, they gave me smiles.

  2. These sentiments made me chuckle – all so very true! I love the bright, fun colors you incorporated into your cards!

  3. Love you cards, they’re just my style. Timely, too bec today’s my birthday and I can relate to these sentiments!

  4. Love this birthday greetings set. These are my kind of sentiments :). Thank you for using this set and for showing some fun ways to use them on cards. Great relea.se by SSS.

  5. Both cards are great…and not just because I can identify with the sayings…I must be getting that old! LOLI n ever thought of using vellum for candles…I really like the effect!

  6. I LOVE these cards so much!! DEFINITELY going to get the Getting Old stamps set!! I can relate to almost ALL of the sayings, for sure! You sold me!!

  7. These are both fantastic, Amy! Those sentiments crack me up – too bad they are absolutely true. That sunny yellow background is perfect for your pretty flowers.

  8. The sentiment made me laugh and I love the cake! Great card! Yesterday’s card is awesome too…. and I have experienced that!

  9. Thoughts on both of your cards—ALWAYS lol Guilty!!! These are so FUN and so true–that’s probably why they made me laugh so hard! These have been perfectly created! Well done! I do love those Jaunty Stems from this Release and the pretty florals you used on yesterday’s card!

  10. Love the colors you used. Aqua and yellow look great together. Fun sayings-especially the one about getting up from a rock. A friend of mine tried out a rocking chair at a tag sale and needed help getting up! Perfect card for her…

  11. I love this particular sentiment, seems to come with age “turning down the stereo so you can see better” 😂..I can relate!! I too have a few milestone birthdays on my list, definitely perfect for those who celebrate and appreciate a good chuckle! Great cards🤗

  12. You’re last but not least. Yesterday’s card sentiment is me on the floor hoping that someone will walk by and I can ask for help getting up. The cards are great but those sentiments really had me laughing. Love that. We can all use more laughter. That and a $25 gift card of course.

  13. hahahaha . Too funny its the story of my life .
something only a few of us really get. great cards BTW

  14. Love your snarky sentiment cards–they are great! I really understand the 2nd one, that is me as I have a recent knee replacement and getting on the floor is not happening!
