So I saw THIS video by Yana and I was super intrigued by her gorgeous technique. I gave it a go with the Hero Arts Jungle Bold Prints and my Copic C9. The other colors are Spectrum Noir.
Whew! That took FOREVER. I don’t have the mindset to sit for that amount of time. I haven’t decided what I’ll do with that panel, so I’m going to wait. I want to look for a different background that is more uniform [aka easier to color].
I picked up a bunch of cling backgrounds at the last CKC event. So I decided to do the same thing with the Hero Arts Ice Cream Cling Background. I heat embossed 2 panels, both in Hero Arts Platinum embossing powder. One for me to experiment with and the other one to use as my final card. After playing around with the darker backgrounds, I decided to keep this one with the natural pink color:
I used my Spectrums on them. I was warned about cross contamination from the embossing being picked up from the pen tip. I didn’t seem to have that with the Spectrums.
I kept with a mainly pink and peach color palette.
It’s definitely not as dramatic as with the darker background but the platinum sheen is gorgeous, isn’t it?
I’m so glad that I gave the technique a try and thank you Yana for sharing her talents. The ice cream card took me all crafty day to complete it [LOL]. It’ll be perfect for one of my co-workers upcoming spring birthday!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
