I’m so excited for this month’s kit and additional add-ons.  I’m a huge fan of nautical theme products!  Here’s my hop project:

I wanted that sweet mermaid to be the star of the show so I went super clean + crisp.  Starting from the bottom and working to the top of the card I trimmed down a panel from the Lightweight Ice Blue Paper from the Main Kit.  Taking a panel of watercolor paper from my stash I stamped and die cut a mermaid from the Main Kit.  I colored her with Zig Clean Color markers.

I cut a panel from watercolor paper and watercolored a pool of water using my peerless watercolors.  I stamped the sentiment from the additional add-on, CM174 Mer-mazing Messages.  I added my watercolored die cut mermaid to the panel with a foam adhesive square.

In case you missed my Countdown to Creativity project on the Hero Arts blog on Friday, here’s another card that I shared that uses the Main Kit and an optional add-on:

I simply ADORE the optional add-on,  DI385 Reef Border and Frame Fancy Dies.  It has an amazing amount of detail, don’t you agree?  The watercolored background just makes the white pop.  I added the oyster and sentiment from the Main Kit.

That’s it from me…next up is the amazing Lydia Fiedler.  In case you get lost along the way, here’s the entire hop listing:

  1. Seriously I think I want the whole hero arts summer release now. Hawaii, Sea and cuteness 💖💖💖😍

  2. Love the simplicity of this card! And the one you did earlier has a fantastic watercolor background. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Wow – that background! I love the quiet, simplicity of your first card and the background behind that gorgeous frame – I love it too!

  4. Stunning as always, Amy! I see you snuck in a little purple on your beautiful crisp and clean first card. 🙂

  5. I'm in awe of everyone's creations including yours using this kit.

  6. Love that background with that gorgeous die! So pretty! Beautiful kit! Love how it goes with so many HA stamps I already have! It's a winner!

  7. These are both stunning cards!! The add on die is so pretty and has so much detail. I really love the first card with the mermaid. It's such a pretty card and the colors are beautiful.

  9. I always get so happy when you do nautical, Amy! These are gorgeous! Perfect watery watercolor look on both, and adore your designs!

  10. Gorgeous cards, Amy! I have a little granddaughter who loves mermaids, and I just might have to add this to my ever-growing list of 'must have' stamps! That Reef Border/Frame is stunning with your watercolored background. Fabulous look. Fabulous cards. Bev

  11. Your mermaid card reminds me of a movie called splash and your reef card is beautiful great job.

  12. I really like this card, I like the way the white really stands out against the blue background. The card is great it would be one that I would pick off a shelf to buy first.

  13. I love that gorgeous reef die too, so I HAD to order one. I love how your cards, as well as most of the cards by the DT and Co., are so striking yet minimalist. The beautiful images and sentiments can take center stage so easily (at least you girls make it seem that way).

  14. At first Mer-mazing looked as if it was needing something then after looking it again I realized it is great as it is. I like the white space and the back ground panel color. I hope I win since it is already gone that fast!

  15. These blogs are so much fun!! Definitely inspiring to see how everyone let's their own personality shine through their creations. Unfortunately since this kit is already sold out I will not be able to join in, although, I did purchase some of the additional selections available.

  16. Beautiful job on the cards! I love the simplicity as it surely is an art to know when to quit adding "more" to the card.

  17. It's funny — when I first saw the kit I didn't think I would ever use it. Now after watching/reading about all your clever ideas — I think I would use it a lot and in so many different ways! Thanks for sharing.

  22. Wow Amy!! I'm in love with your mermaid!! I adore the fact that you used lavender in her tail! 😍💖

  23. Your first card is CAS which I really like. Your second card however, is beyond WOW! It is drop dead
gorgeous! What an amazing kit. I'd order it in a heartbeat, but, alas, the exchange rate is a deal
breaker. Drat! But, there is always the hope of winning. 🙂

  24. Love the shading in the water behind
    the die cut. Beautiful.
the simple mermaid card is wonderful.
You don't always need a lot of fluff
    to have a great card.
    thanks for sharing.

  25. I love the simplicity of your first card! It shows you don't have to fill up the whole space and something I need to remember! Thanks so much for sharing!

  26. OMG ! I love this wonderful watercolour background with this gorgeous white frame ! It is totally stunning ! Thanks for sharing and for inspiring.

  27. Beautiful cards! I love how you used the kit products. What a super cute kit this is I just love mermaids! ~Gin K.~

  30. Your cards are lovely!!

I have been looking for the perfect mermaid stamps FOR YEARS! These are the perfect mermaid stamps, I am in love and desperate to have this set!!! I waited 24 hours too long to order because I stupidly promised my husband that I wouldn't order anything new until we sold our house and now I am so sad because they are all gone.

  31. Pretty cards! I love the mermaid in the corner and the sentiment is so cute! The second card beautiful. Love that die!

  32. Love the cards. The first one is so sweet and simply done. Love the fact that it was done with zig markers (love mine) and the 2nd card is just lovely.

  33. I love everything about this kit and wish I had ordered it! I love your card. Thanks for all your tips!

  34. Such a great looking mermaid card! I also really like the reef border die. It does look great the way you used it with the pretty blue background.

  35. This kit is really full of so many prettty elements. I love the CAS card with the tiny bit of water under the mermaid.

  36. OH…oh..that die! The reef border! I'm so glad you used that reef border because I wouldn't have realized….I need it….

  37. Cute Mermaid card and beautiful die cut, I love this kit … just saw it today and it is already sold out! So sad!

  38. Such pretty cards! Love how in both cards you let the texture you've created or from the papers to stand out and keep the rest of the card sweet and clean. Thanks so much for sharing!

  39. Love all the white space in the first card – it makes the mermaid really 'pop', and the colours inside that intricate die cut of the second card are stunning. Thank you for sharing.

  40. The colors of your watercolor background are gorgeous! Those zig pens really are beautiful.

  41. Everyone has been using those beautiful ocean blue colors and I think it's beautiful. My sister takes photos for leather purses and other things that she sells. The other day someone asked if she had a photo of a mermaid. Yeah, like she could photograph a real mermaid. However, your card would have looked good on her purse. I can't wait to win this kit!

  42. Amy, I'm at a loss for words in praising your cards that are ever so stylish, striking and all-around sensational! I'll leave it at this: mermaid and ocean magical, both!
    Hugs~c
I am sooooo subscribing to these kits! Call me 'convinced' *grin*

  43. Both cards are beautiful. I like that they have a lot of white space and aren't too busy.
    Fantastic new Hero Arts kit!

  44. Both cards are great, but I especially love the one with the oyster. Our grand-daughters are all "pearls" to us, and I know they will love the magic of images from this kit!

  45. Beautiful cards; thanks for sharing. Thanks aS WELL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO WIN THIS INCREDIBLE KIT.

  46. So beautiful and sweet! This kit definitely got everyone going – this blog hop is such fun 🙂

  47. To say that I was devastated to learn that they were sold out would be the biggest understatement of the decade!!!! I seriously thought I was going to cry!! I am hoping that they restock it, as I know A LOT of people were disappointed they missed it!!! But your cards are amazing as always! Love the simple elegance of the first card and the add on reef die you used for the second card is a must have. Love both of the cards!!!

  48. Love to win! I adore the mermaid stamps and the beautiful papers in the kit ! Your cards were beautiful !
