We’re back with
The awesome Jessi is the sketcher for this super challenge!
Initially I struggled with the sketch…not because of the sketch itself, but I was desperately trying to use pattern papers. That combined with the fact that I was ‘crafting’ with 4 other gals, nothing ever gets accomplished 🙂
So this card was totally inspired by Dawn McVey. That girl rocks the PTI color combos, eh? The cardstock is PTI but I don’t have any PTI inks so I substituted with Fresh Inks:
Pool
Mojito
Yes, this is the first time I’m using the Phrase Play #3, but hey, at least it is getting some ♥♥♥!
Do you see the faint Pool outline around the Ruby Reprise blooms (thanks Kimberly!)? It’s actually a trick that I learned from Michelle of Avocado Arts. I flipped the blooms over and slapped them on my stamp block and inked on top of the Mojito with Pool ink!
I can’t wait to see how you’re inspired!
I hope that you’ll play along with us!

This is beautiful! I am loving the colors!
Fun, see you can put down the patterned paper and pull out the ink.
So pretty, Amy, love the colors and the clean lines! The event was fun, not as exciting as convention, but anything to get my hands on the new catalog…loving it for sure, came home with a free new stamp set! Can't wait to see what you do with the coffee set, you are the queen of coffee! Have a terrific Tuesday!
Love it Amy!
I love how you used the floral image at the bottom of the card!~ Great card, Amy!

Amy I love this and how you do sketches so well my friend.
Such pretty colors and love that sentiment panel. Flipping your stamps around for that effect is so fun!
So cool the way you made the outline! Fab technique, fab card!
Way to make the sketch your own!
Totally awesome card! And I love how you highlighted around the stamped images.

So cute!!!
Great card…love the colors! Thanks for the tip, always forget that you can do that!
Love your card Amy and the fact that you didn't use any pattern paper. I also like the idea about flipping the stamp over and using another color for the background.
Oh and I have yet to use any of my PTI Phrase sets.
OMWord, what a cool trick with the stamps! I LOVE the subtle outline around the flowers. This is fabulous!
What a great design on this Amy! I've got to get out my PTI die like this – I always buy these things and then don't use them!
Oh, I'm always amazed by the ingenuity of crafters! Stamping those flowers with both the front and back sides is clever, and has such a neat effect. Thanks for passing along that tip. 🙂
love the subtle blue around the flowers to match the die
WOW, I just love this 'technique' with the blooms, Amy! Beautiful card using this sketch 🙂
