Earlier this year I purchased a handful of sets from Newton’s Nook that were more pet sympathy related. I have thoroughly inspired by the fabulous Samantha Mann and THIS card of hers.

I used a square die from my stash to design a ‘photo slide’ type frame.
I did a bit of ink ‘smooshing’ on the background with Distress Oxide – Black Soot on watercolor paper. The panel inside of the ‘slide’ frame has ink smooshing too but with colors.
My intention was to make up a couple pet sympathy cards to have on hand but gah, I ditched that idea and decided they need to be designed per situation. This card has already been received by the recipient. She recently lost her furry family member after having 11 years with her. After losing the grandpup in December, I’m still grieving and know the power of a handmade card.
