Welcome to the #PaperCraftersUniteAgainstRacism Instagram hop!
The goal of this hop is to continue to raise awareness about anti-racism; to stand with our BIPOC friends and family, and to keep encouraging everyone to start the necessary conversations. We are all one humanity and should find a way to #showup for equity and equality, in a way that makes sense for YOU. Silence, Inaction, and Passivity are detrimental to justice.
You should have arrived from @confidentcanvas LaQuisha’s. If not, you should start at the beginning which is @expressivepaper Kathy’s .

Here’s how I was inspired:

I combined products from a couple different companies:
- Simon Says Stamp – Big Picture Book Big Body | die
- Simon Says Stamp – Big Picture Book Puppy | die *
- Waffle Flower – Be Christmas Accessories | die
- Waffle Flower – Dashed Rhombus Panel | die
- Hero Arts – Nesting Hearts | die

I had so many ideas for today and went with the red hat project. The “Melt the ICE” red hats were started by the owner of @needleandskein along with one of the employees. The employee suggest a ‘nisselue’ – a traditional Norwegian red cap worn as a silent protest against Nazi occupation in the 1940’s. The knitted, red, tasseled hats became a symbol of solidarity. Last I read, they were up to $650k for immigrant rights groups. Now how awesome is that?

I mean really, who could resist this sweet pup complete with a red tasseled hat?!

The sentiment was computer generated and then cut with a heart.
Here’s today’s hop listing:

Up next is: @craftyannastudio – Anna.
I wanted to feature this quote by Nelson Mandela:
“No one is born hating
another person because
of the color of his skin,
or his background, or
his religion. People
must learn to hate,
and if they can learn to
hate, they can be taught
to love, for love comes
more naturally to the
human heart than
its opposite.”
