2022 Woodblock Wednesday!

I’m so excited for today! I’m starting the Woodblock Wednesday feature! I’ve posted about it on Facebook + Instagram and I’m excited to see how others are inspired. I decided to add an inlinkz to the bottom of this post. This will be a great resource so I hope that you’ll link up your projects for today! I’m also compiling Woodblock Stamp Resource Guide. When I come across them in your various posts, I’ll add them to my listing to share!

Here’s how I was inspired:

I designed a set of four very clean + simple cards. I started off with a Bazzill Rose Quartz Base with Concord & 9th – Cranberry Ink.

The stamps I used are both unfortunately retired:

  • Josephine Kimberling for Impress – Merry & Bright
  • River City Rubber Works – this better not go in the trash

Originally my intention was to step up the design – little by little. Then I decided that I LOVE it super clean and honestly, during the holidays I’m always cursing myself for using foam adhesive because the Post office is always telling me my cards need to go as parcels [sigh, really?!].

See that tool in the lower left, it’s a Stamp-a-ma-jig by Ek Success. Inkadinkado also markets their version, same name, I read that their version has been discontinued. Not sure if the Ek Success has been discontinued although it seems like it has, I found mine on Amazon. It’s a must have for me with the woodmount stamps, it’s like an old school Misti.

I’m a big fan of visual tutorials and found one on the Ellen Hutson LLC site by Julie Ebersole HERE.

I can’t wait to see how everyone is inspired. I’ve had some questions if this will be a weekly event. I personally won’t be able to swing weekly but will definitely plan for Wednesday, December 7th. I hope you’ll join us, just post a newly created project that features Woodmount Stamps and tag it:

  • #woodblockwednesday
  • #woodblockstamps

I’d also LOVE to see how you store your woodblock stamps, here’s how I do:

Let’s do this again –> Wednesday, December 7th <– Mark your calendars!

Of the projects that have linked up, I’ve managed to start a resource guide HERE.

If you’re playing along with me today why don’t you link up below. Please only public IG, FB and other photo galleries.

  1. Amy (referring to your question at my blog) I can’t seem to find an online source for Stampettes (only Yelp reviews and a business address). I feel like they are found in Hawaii Scrapbook stores and various Hawaii Walmarts (where I usually get them). It’s super low key and they are always changing their designs. Very island specific and casual! 😉 Unfortunately I’ve lost the skill in how to respond to you specifically at my blog so I repeated myself there 😉

  2. Fun, this gives me great incentive to dust off my woodblock stamp and gave them some inky love! Thanks for the challenge Amy.

  3. These are perfect holiday CAS cards! I’d love to play along, but I can’t get to my craft desk until tomorrow or Friday. I hope to link up next month.
    Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. So fun, Love the humor and the display Amy. I have mine both in drawers and on shelves and I rotate them getting ready to bring out some of the Santa’s and Snowmen soon-ish 🙂 ~Stacy
