Birthday Creative Hop | Reverse Confetti

Today is the Reverse Confetti May Birthday Creative Hop!  Every 8th of the month is the day we get together and hop.  There isn’t a normal new release this month, it has been pushed out to June but you’re going to love it.  More information on the Reverse Confetti blog.

This month we have three ‘Fetti Friends joining us:

This month is super special because it is Reverse Confetti’s 7th Birthday!  How cool is that?  Our theme is:  Birthday.  You should have arrived here from Olga Moss’ blog.  If not, you’ll want to start at the beginning which is the Reverse Confetti blog.

Here’s how I was inspired:

My Reverse Confetti color duo:

RC Aqua + Stormy

I don’t know that I’ve teamed up up these colors before but I LOVE it.  I tend to use RC Aqua and Stone so this is a dramatic change for me.  Let’s start from the bottom of the card and work our way up!

I used the Lotsa Dots Stencil on a Stormy Panel with Stormy Ink.  I decided to distress the edges.  That center band was inspired by Thom Brown.  I love his iconic Red, White and Blue logo.   The sentiment is from Birthday Wishes.  Here’s where I keep things real.  One of the last things I had to do was stamp the sentiment on the white strip.  Um yeah, my first sentiment turned out horrible.  I ended up layering another white strip on both of them, stamping out the sentiments first and then adhering them.

Here’s a photo with the other sentiment, I love it:

The cake is from one of my favorite birthday sets, Cake & Champagne.  Here are the copic colors I used:

Top Layer:  BG11
Middle blue:  BG11 | BG32
Bottom Layer:  BG13 | BG15

You can’t really tell but I did some Second Generation stamping behind the cake with Elegant Florals in Stone.

That’s it for me!  Up next is Olga Matyushevskaya!  In case you get lost along the way, here’s the hop listing:
