The Hop to Stop 2016 – The Life She Imagined

The awesome Becca Cruger is the hostess of The Hop To Stop.  She started this hop as a way to connect Domestic Violence Survivors and give hope to victims.  I personally know someone that has left an abusive marriage.  I’m so proud that she took the steps to leave that toxic marriage.

I wanted to join in raising the awareness of this issue, this is how it inspired me:

Many of you know that I really just started to use more purple in the projects.  I fully embraced it with this card.  I started off with a watercolor panel.  I watercolored stripes with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink.  It wasn’t purple enough for me so I went over the tops with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from a now retired a•muse⎪studio, Dwell in Possibility.

The bloom is from Stampin’ Up – Birthday Blooms.  It has been inked in Dusty Concord Distress ink and I also watercolored it with the same color.  I sprinkled water droplets on the image and dried it with my heat gun.  I finished it off with gold dots inked up with Delicata Gold.

Make sure you check out the hop on Becca’s blog…her post is especially moving.

Why can’t we live in a world where everyone respected everyone else?

Some words/stats from Becca’s blog:

Purple is the color of National Domestic Violence Awareness month.

1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence over the course of their lifetimes.
Let that sink in – 33% of all the women you meet.

Women between the ages of 15 and 44 are more likely to be injured or die as a result of domestic violence, than through rapes, muggings and car accidents combined.

And women aren’t the only people who are affected! Women, men, transgender – gender doesn’t matter. Domestic violence is something that exists regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, religion, education level, etc.
And yet, it’s something that is rarely talked about in very public ways. It’s something that’s hidden and hushed. Together, we CAN make a powerful impact.
