Stampin’ Up Sunday: to a wonderful friend

Happy Sunday!
I need to do Stampin’ Up Sunday’s with all the SU stuff that I’ve been slowly accumulating.

I’m like a lot of crafters, I started off with Stampin’ Up around 2003’ish.  I jumped in, with both feet and probably should have signed up to be a demo then but didn’t, but was always my then SU Demo’s best customer.  After awhile, I started to notice other stamp companies and eventually stepped away from Stampin’ Up.

Fast forward to 2014, and I’m smitten with Stampin’ Up again.  Their designs are fun & fresh and they have started to incorporate photopolymer.  That is key for me, I’m only buying the photopolymer sets.

Check out one of their newest sets,

Chuckling at my photo, my girl is home for the weekend and she was photobombing.  I always use the portrait lens but decided to post this one anyways, it makes me smile…Love having my girl home.

I adore the swoopy font of the wonderful and look how wide it is {my card is A2, 4.25 x 5.5}.  Such a gorgeous set and all is good in the world since I reinked my embossing pad…sheesh, what a huge difference that makes!

My card base is actually Stampin’ Up Pink Pirouette.  I then layered the glorious Gold Fancy Designer Vellum Foil on top.

I added a Your Next Stamp Gold Nugget Gum Drop to the center of the largest bloom.

(note:  the banners are attached to the ‘wonderful’…I trimmed them off

I decided to concentrate of the gold and pale pink!

  3. Beautiful card, Amy, love all the new SU stuff, haven't used my vellum yet! I tend to hoard it as well! Have a fabulous Sunday! And oh it is nice to start over isn't it?

  5. Stunning card, Amy – and how wonderful that you've 'reconnected' with a former love. Sometimes, what's 'old' is new again, in the most delightful ways. Looking forward to more of your SU inspiration.

  7. Fabulous card Amy! I too was introduced to papercrafting about 10 years ago through SU, but I never actually started making stuff til about a year or two ago!!

  8. Gorgeous card, Amy! I'm loving the "new" SU as well, with the polymer stamps and designer foils. Delicious!!

P.S. Bunny squirrel is actually small and cute! Must've been a small pumpkin that made him look big. LOL I hope you'll play along! I know you have squirrel stuff. 😀

  9. Wow this is so beautiful Amy. I love that flower and the foil and love seeing your DD in the bg. I love it when my boys come to visit.

  10. As usual your card has the WOW factor Amy, it just makes me so happy to see all that beuatiful gold! I kinda missed the SU boat maybe I should take just a little peek lol.

  11. Very cute card. I love the gold with the pink. I started buying Stampin' Up from a friend in 1995 (I'm old) I can remember pouring through the catalog over and over trying to figure out which sets would get me the most bang for my buck (b/c I was poor). I was so inspired by their samples. I was a demo in 2011 but ventured out. So glad they finally have real clear stamps!! Love their inks & coordinating papers.

  12. *thud* Absolutely stunning Amy! The interplay of pink and gold has me drooling, and the use of the vellum really helps maintain the light airy feel of the inspiration too! That sentiment is just delicious and I think I may need to take another look at SU! and bag that set as a result! Thanks so much for playing to find a Cure For The Monday Blues!

  13. Love that great sentiment, such a cool font and of course I love the gold on vellum, gorgeous card!

  16. I too am once again in like with SU! I've already placed two orders from the Holiday catalog and will be using their stamps for my Christmas cards this year. Love your card and yes the vellum is gorgeous.

  17. Beautiful card! The vellum foil is just gorgeous! And your daughter photobombing your pic is too funny!

  18. Your so good to have used that gorgeous gold vellum….I have some that has lots of tiny gold triangles but hardly use it because I only have one sheet…isn't that silly!! I LOVE the font of the 'wonderful', so curvy and the flower is so dainty. Beautiful!

  19. Fabulous card, Amy! I love it!
I was never "into" SU! that much because I was more of a scrapbooker back then. I had hosted a few SU! parties over the years and had some stamps, but I just didn't like the wood blocks. I didn't realize they had clear stamps now….. this set is very cute!

  20. I love that photo bomb! I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it, lol! I'm with you on the SU! 2014 catalogue. There are some amazing new looks in there, and I love that they've started using photopolymer too. Your card is gorgeous, Amy!

  21. really like the colors on this one. such a beautiful card, Amy! Also, congrats on being the GD for PS in November!!! can't wait to see what you make! =)
