happy blooming birthday

Back to work…I’ve had the last 6 days off!
Here’s a clean & graphic card:
The bloom & sentiment are from the Stampin’ Up Flower Patch set.  It’s photopolymer and has coordinating dies.  Have I mentioned my new love for Stampin’ Up?

I stamped the bloom with Distress Ink/Crushed Olive and then used a wet paintbrush to give it a washed look.  The sentiment has been stamped with Fresh Ink Charcoal.  Love using that color so it doesn’t overwhelm the design like a black ink would.

cardstock:  strathmore  stamps:  stampin’ up flower patch  ink:  crushed olive distress ink, fresh ink charcoal  other:  paper accents vellum, lawn fawn journal card die, misc washi
See that washi?  I picked up a grab bag from a local Scrapbooking shop that is moving.  Isn’t it a perfect match to the Crushed Olive?

I posted my card earlier on Flickr.

  1. OMGosh, could that washi match that ink color any better? This is gorgeous, Amy! Such a soft and elegant design. I love that flower set. I got to play with it recently at a friend's house… 🙂 Stampin'Up has always been a personal weakness of mine!

  2. Oh that olive color is gorgeous! Love the tips with brushing the distress ink after. Just beautiful.

  3. Beautiful CAS card! Love the layer of vellum for the sentiment. Hope you had a wonderful 6 days off 🙂

  4. OHHHHHHHHHH! I just love how you used that photo for inspiration— GORGEOUS! I loooooooooooove the colors and the vellum— beautifully done! LOVE LOVE LOVE:)

  5. Awesome inspired card! Where do you work? For some reason I thought you were a lady of leisure :)– just stamping away your days..

  6. Beautiful card and the Washi is perfect! I go back to work tomorrow after having 5 days off, it was wonderful!

  7. wow. a gorgeous rendition of the inspiration photo. that flower is beautiful! and I adore that raised panel.

  8. This is absolutely perfect! Hope your day back at work wasn't too tough…it's always so hard to go back, though, when you've had a wonderfully long break.

  9. swoon… this stamp reminded me of a WMS set I have… love the vellum sentiment.

  10. Flower Patch is at the top of my wishlist and I still don't own it. The set with its dies is fairly expensive and I keep convincing myself that I need a multitude of other things instead of this one set. But now I'm looking at your card and regretting that I don't own it. I've only ever seen it used bright and cute – but you have used it so elegantly.
